Zimbabwe national cricket coach Larkand Rajput, who has tested positive for Covid-19 ahead of the Sri Lanka tour, will not be with the team for the first two Sri Lanka tours, an official has asserted One-day international competition Monday.
Trip to Zimbabwe Sri Lanka 2022 is scheduled for a one-day international match on January 16 at the Pallekle International Cricket Stadium in downtown Kandy. The second one-day international will be held at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy on January 18, and the third one-day international will be held at the same venue on January 21.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka’s top sports doctor Arjuna De Silva has revealed that Zimbabwe head coach Larkand Rajput Asymptomatic but under observation in hospital before being isolated in a hotel. He also revealed that the head coach will miss the first few games against Sri Lanka as he will have to undergo a 10-day quarantine.
“We are doing some routine testing and he will be able to go back to the hotel and there will be a 10-day quarantine period, which means he will miss the first two games. “Arjuna de Silva told AFP.. “
Sri Lanka’s sports doctor Arjuna de Silva further added that the rest of the Zimbabwe team had not tested positive for Covid-19 and they were allowed to attend training and practice sessions.
The Sri Lanka 2022 trip to Zimbabwe includes only one day of international competition. A three-match T20I series between Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka is also planned. However, schedules for the T20I series have been put on hold due to Sri Lanka’s upcoming Australian tour starting February 11 in Sydney. Additionally, the tour includes only five T20I matches.
