Will Tuukka Rask return to the Boston Bruins?

Eric Hartline-USA Today Sports

Tuukka Rask’s appearance at the Boston Bruins training facility last week suggests that he may be ready to recover from hip surgery during the offseason earlier than expected.

Whether this will work with the Bears remains to be seen.

The 34-year-old Lasker spent his entire 14 season NHL career with the Bruins, including the past eight games as their starting goalkeeper. In his efforts to restore the game, he is still an unrestricted free agent. He is expected to return in January, but in August, he suggested that he can prepare in late December.

Waking up with the Bruins goalkeeper coach Bob Essensa is another sign that Lasker intends to stay in Boston. He has shown that signing with the Bruins is his first choice, implying that he will become their “cheap goalkeeper.”
