The U.S. Hockey League grieves the news of his death Tom Coley Today is a long illness.

He is 68 years old.

Known as “Mr. Nighthawks,” Corley spent seven of his eight AHL seasons with the New Haven Nighthawks, where he played 534 games, 204 goals, 281 assists and 485 All points set a team record. His No. 9 jersey was retired by the team.

Coley also spent a season with the Binghamton Whalers and ended his AHL career with 535 points in 611 games.

As a native of Collingwood, Ontario, Coley participated in a National Hockey League game with the Minnesota Polaris on March 12, 1975.
