Three teams, including Barcelona, chasing former La Masia man

According to reports in Spain, three teams are interested in the services of Paris Saint-Germain Xavi Simmons.

Xavi Simmons joins Paris Saint-Germain

Xavi Simmons is currently on the squad of French powerhouse Paris Saint-Germain.

Paris Saint-Germain will sign Simmons on a free transfer in July 2019 after his contract with FC Barcelona expires.

The 18-year-old was previously one of the standouts at Barca’s prestigious La Masia academy.

Simmons was signed by Barcelona as a child in 2010 but was unable to make it into their first team until his contract expired and he left Paris.

Simon has made regular appearances for their under-19 team since his move to Paris Saint-Germain.

However, he has only made four appearances for Paris Saint-Germain’s senior side so far, only one of which has been in Ligue 1.

Barcelona among clubs chasing Simmons

And now, with Simmons’ current contract expiring at the end of the season, he has been touted as another move.

And, despite letting him go a few years ago, FC Barcelona is listed as one of the parties interested in the midfielder.

According to Spanish media Ficajes, Simmons is about to leave Paris Saint-Germain and three clubs are interested.

These clubs are based on transfer, Barcelona, Manchester City and Newcastle United.

Given that neither of them are French, they are now in a position to sign a pre-contract deal before signing Simmons for free in the summer.

However, where would it be better for Simmons to move? On paper, Manchester City and Barcelona have provided the best development for the youngster.

And, given Barca’s current focus on youth, can Simmons get the most minutes there?

LaBlaugrana has not been afraid to rely on young stars this season, with Garvey, 17, a key figure in the team.
