The Vegas Golden Cavaliers trade Ryan Reeves to the New York Rangers

The Rangers have reached a deal with the Vegas Golden Cavaliers in exchange for veteran Ryan Reeves in exchange for the third round pick of the 2022 NHL draft.

For head coach Gerald Galant, this is a familiar face, who has coached Reeves in Vegas. The 34-year-old player played only 37 games for the Cavaliers last season, with only one goal and 4 assists in total.

But this is where he thrives: Reeves led the NHL in field goal percentage per 60 minutes of ice time last season. So he is a tough forward who can provide some contusion checks and pre-stress checks on the third or fourth line.

Since the start of the 2010-11 season, Reeves has ranked third in the NHL with 2,322 hits. He is not afraid of any skater. He is 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 225 pounds before putting on blades and pads.

By adding players like Jared Tinordi and Patrik Nemeth to the blue line, it is clear that President and General Manager Chris Drury is looking to expand this roster under Gallant’s leadership.
