An oiler legend is getting what it deserves.
On November 5th, the Edmonton Oilers will hang guard Kevin Low’s No. 4 jersey on the rafters before the Rogers Square game against the New York Rangers.
Lowe is a member of the 2020 Hockey Hall of Fame. He scored the team’s first NHL goal in 1979. In 15 seasons in Edmonton, Lowe scored 74 goals, 309 assists and 383 points in 1,037 games-the most played games in the history of the team.
The retirement of Lowe’s jersey is one of several special events planned by the Oilers this season. The team will also pay tribute to the late Joey Moss on September 28, and will also set up a player and media section in the arena.
