Tamim Iqbal withdrew from New Zealand tour due to thumb injury

Due to a thumb injury during the Everest Super League in Nepal, Bangladesh’s opener Tamim Iqbal will be absent from the upcoming New Zealand Tour.

According to a report in Online messageOn Monday, Tamim was advised to rest for a month after consulting a doctor in England. “He (Tamim) met with doctors and they advised him to rest for a month, even though he does not need any surgery,” said Debashish Chowdhury, the chief doctor of the Bangladesh Cricket Board.

“In that case, he missed the trip to New Zealand.”

As part of the team’s new World Test Championship cycle, Bangladesh will conduct two tests in New Zealand.

The first test will be held at the Bay Oval in Tauranga from January 1st to 5th, followed by the second game at Christchurch on January 9th.
