‘Problems’ hindering Crystal Palace’s possible signing of Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah

Revealed: 'Problems' holding back Crystal Palace's possible signing of Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah

Crystal Palace’s pursuit of Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah was revealed on Tuesday.

Arsenal at Nketiah

Eddie Nketiah will join Arsenal’s youth team in 2015, signing from London rivals Chelsea.

Nketiah has had a mixed run in north London since then and was loaned to Leeds United for the 2019/20 season.

Nketiah returned in January 2020, playing fairly well under then-new boss Mikel Arteta. However, the 22-year-old never really improved and has largely fallen out of favor.

Nketiah hasn’t done much for Arsenal this season, but he has made a big splash for the Gunners in the Carabao Cup, scoring five goals in three appearances.

Nketiah also excelled for England’s Under-21s, scoring a record 16 times in 17 appearances for the Cubs.

So while his Premier League minutes at Arsenal are limited, Nketiah has shown his keen eye for goals and he just needs to play more regularly.

Crystal Palace want Nketiah

So with the hitman’s deal in six months, there’s definitely some interest in him.

Nketiah is linked Crystal Palace in summer and those Link Came back recently.

Now, though, as mentioned above, the Daily Mail’s Sami Mokbel has the latest update on the situation.

Mokbel reports that Palace is trying to sign Nketiah, but wages are proving to be an issue.

Also, Nketiah has free agent interest from Germany and France (he could sign pre-contract deals with foreign clubs as he is now in the final six months of his contract), so English clubs may have a hard time competing for January:
