Two members of the Manchester United squad were singled out for harsh criticism after the club’s meeting with Aston Villa tonight.

McTominay is different

Not long ago, of course Ralph Rangnick’s men were in action again.

The Red Devils take the aforementioned Aston Villa against Old Trafford in the final game of the FA Cup third round, looking to return to victory after a worrying loss to Wolves last game the road.

And, to their credit, when all was said and done, ensuring that the outcome of the rebound was exactly what United managed.

A solo goal, with a nod by Scott McTominay within ten minutes, finally proved enough to guide the hosts on the night past Steven Gerrard’s Willans into the FA Cup fourth round:

“Be sure they hate each other”

Over a night at work, they saw their side have been hoping for a belated piece of silverware, so of course it’s assumed that Manchester United’s loyal fans will remain positive after the game.

However, as it turns out, this is far from the case.

Indeed, Rangnick’s side were beaten for a long time tonight, with Aston Villa unfortunate enough to leave Old Trafford with the wrong final result.

In turn, a slew of underperforming Red Devils stars have been criticised, with the likes of Victor Lindelof, Luke Shaw and Fred all being targeted.

However, no one gets more attention than the attacking duo of Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood.

This was due to what has been widely described as the England international’s greed in front of goal, as both Rashford and Greenwood opted not to let each other tee off in promising positions for the 90 minutes.

Some even suggested that attack partners in crime acted as if they “hated each other,” with some highlights from social media shown below:
