The Edmonton Oilers signed the last RFA.
As Dustin Nelson of TSN 1260 first reported, the Edmonton Oilers have signed a one-year renewal contract with Kyler Yamamoto worth $1.175 million.
Last season, Yamamoto scored 8 goals and 13 assists in four playoff games, plus one assist. Yamamoto showed his talents in the 2019-20 season. After struggling to break the previous full-time lineup, he scored 11 goals and 26 points in 27 games.
It will be interesting to see if the Oilers can find a way to retain Yamamoto and Jesse Puljujärvi during the next round of RFA signing, both of whom will make new trades next summer. Retaining two young forwards needs to be Ken Holland’s top priority to help the team maintain a solid forward core in the future.
