Newcastle United supporters took to social media on Saturday night to call for a member of Eddie Howe to leave immediately.

Cambridge shocked the public

Not long ago, Howe certainly led his troops back into action.

With the prospect of the club’s January transfer window exciting, the Magpies welcome League One side Cambridge United to St James’ Park as they look for a morale-boosting victory in the FA Cup third round.

However, when all is said and done, it would be an understatement to say Newcastle’s afternoon didn’t quite go according to plan.

A performance that could be described as abysmal ended up leaving the hosts of the day rattled by a zero goal.

The crucial moment of the game was about to come early in the second half as Joe Ironside went home to send the away support in attendance into delirium:

‘Pay Everton to take him’

In turn, after another dark day in Newcastle United’s recent history, it’s no surprise to hear the club’s fans stand up after the game.

Numerous Magpies stars have been singled out for relentless criticism, including the likes of Matt Ritchie, Joe Willock and Miguel Almiron.

However, no one has targeted St James’ full-time whistle more broadly than Sean Longstaff.

Newcastle supporters have taken to social media to slam their once-respected midfield talent, with some even urging their wealthy new club to take advantage of paltry opportunities rumor Premier League rivals Everton bid £1m this month:
