New chaos at AFCON as Ghana’s Tate punches Gabon star

Post-match footage of tonight’s clash between Ghana and Gabon went completely viral on social media.

Ayew’s strike is not enough

The latest match of Group C of the African Cup of Nations held not long ago.

After a 1-0 loss to Morocco in their match opener, faltering heavyweights Ghana are tasked with a victory over Gabon this time around to get their AFCON journey back on track.

However, Milovan Rajvac’s men were once again flattered when it all came to an end at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium, with a 1-1 stalemate.

Ghana did open the scoring on the night, thanks to the individual talent of former West Ham and Swansea City star Andre Ayew:

However, there was still a twist in the story, as the small fish Gabon, without the services of key performers Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Mario Lemina, scored a crucial goal with just minutes left through Jim Allevinah Equalizer:

Ghana, in turn, remains third in the Group C table with just one game to play.

Tate’s Crazy Moment

And, as mentioned above, behind the full-time whistle in Yaoundé, a member of the Black Star squad got him in a really good mood.

Problem player? Benjamin Tate.

Tate lashed out after a scuffle broke out between opposing squads, punching a Gabon star in the face.

From here, the striker managed to get off the field and return to the Ghanaian dressing room.

However, captain Thomas Partey was then instructed by a team of officials to order Tate to reappear in sight, culminating in the 24-year-old being shown a deserved red card.
