NCAAW: Angel Rees of the Maryland Turtles will be challenged by the Baylor Bears

On Sunday, Maryland, ranked 3rd, Maryland, will face 6th-ranked Baylor, and this game may become the best game of the early season. Both teams have NCAA championship aspirations, and so far have not disappointed.

Everyone hopes that Maryland will become a powerful country again, and that is the fact. Terrapins brought back almost the same team, and last year they scored 26-3 and scored one of the best offenses in the country. This offense has resumed from the beginning, averaging 93 points per game, and has won every game in a blowout manner so far.

Sunday will be the first real test for Terps against top opponents. With all the experience of Maryland, they will undoubtedly be undaunted and ready to play. The question is, can Angel Reese continue her second grade jump and lead them to victory? Can they stop Baylor’s big man from playing? Can they stop players like NaLyssa Smith and Queen Egbo from leaving?

Like Terps, Baylor Bears has an unbeaten start, has a strong offensive ability, and seems to be as good as advertised. Baylor has achieved a balanced offense in the first three games of the season, with three or more players in double figures in each game.

Despite the balance, the Bears still have some players who stand out. Smith averaged a double-double of 19 points and 11 rebounds per game, while Egbo averaged 14 points and 8 rebounds per game in her 25 minutes. With this frontcourt, it is difficult for the opposing team to prevent Baylor from getting a high shooting percentage or staying away from rebounds. There is no doubt that the Bears will attack from the low position as early as possible and often in Sunday’s game against the Tepps.

Game information

Ranked 3rd Maryland (5-0, 0-0 Big Ten) and No. 6 Baylor (3-0, 0-0 Big 12)

when: Sunday, November 21, 1 p.m. EDT

Where: University Park, MD

How to watch/listen: Big Ten Network/ESPN 1660 AM (Baylor) or 92.3 AM (Baylor)

The key to the game: Maryland will have to set up and keep up with Baylor. Terps is fully capable of doing this, with players like Ashley Owusu and Angel Reese leading. They must find a way to win a rebounding game with the Bears dominating the frontcourt. Baylor is a slight weaker and will rely on Smith and Ebo for large-scale offensives. But it’s not all about offense; they need to play a strong defense and try to contain Maryland’s top offense. In fact, the game probably boils down to which team made enough defensive stops in the later stages.
