Manchester City supporters took to social media on Friday night to react to rookie Cole Palmer’s latest performance.

Silva’s goal

Not too long ago, the Sky Blue of course got into action again.

After extending their lead in the Premier League to a full 10 points at the weekend, City have turned their attention to the cup side this time around.

The Manchester Giants travel to south-west England for their FA Cup third-round meeting with League Two side Swindon Town.

And, when all was said and done, despite the absence of head coach Guardiola and many key performers due to Covid-19, the visitors unsurprisingly won 4-1.

Bernardo Silva opened the scoring on the night before further attacks from Gabriel Jesus, Ilkay Gundogan and Cole Palmer added some hard-earned luster to the score.

“talented”

And, as mentioned above, behind the county’s full-time whistle, it was the name of a member of Pep Guardiola’s squad, especially in the post-match chatter that took up the front row and center.

The player in question? Young Cole Palmer.

With the likes of Riyad Mahrez and Raheem Sterling missing, the 19-year-old Palmer got a rare start on the right, Continuing to steal the show, not only assists, but the following gorgeous finishes, in a wonderful all-round display:

The efforts of Manchester City’s academy graduates were certainly not recognised by the club’s supporters, who made a collective statement on social media in sheer numbers after the game.

This is reflected in Palmer, who, at just 19, is already a better player than Ferran Torres, who was of course allowed to leave the Etihad for Barcelona when the transfer window opened in January:
