Brought in pre-season deals Jack Lucini For sister cities, he has become the mainstay of the Belleville Senator lineup and has been constantly changing since the opening night.
Due to a series of injuries and COVID-19-related recalls to Ottawa, the team has completed no less than 52 transactions.
This versatile forward has performed well on special teams and plays both the left wing and the center as needed. Luchini currently leads the AHL Senators with 12 points and 6 goals in 13 games. In the shortened 2020-21 season of the pandemic, his total offense with the Laval Rockets has effectively doubled .
“I just want to come here to have a positive impact on the team,” said Lucchini, who was acquired by Belleville from the Rockets on October 12. “I didn’t set many goals for myself. I just try to come every day, try to get better, and do my best to help the team.”
Signing the AHL agreement for the 2021-22 season, Lucchini has established a solid relationship with the head coach of the Senators Troyman. This 2019 Michigan Tech graduate majored in sports management and minored in coaching.
“He is a very strict coach and I really like it,” Luchini said. “I want to accept the challenge. I just hope he has faith in me and he can put me on the ice at any time. So far, it’s really good.”
Similarly, Mann only compliments his alternate captain.
“He is a great successor to us, and someone we like to coach very much.”
Belleville is one of the youngest teams in the league. The club relies on the 26-year-old player to play a leading role in the adversity at the beginning of the season.
“I just help them as much as possible, whether I just try to lead by example, or if they need to talk about something or advice,” Lucchini said. “I just want to speak for them and help them through everything they have experienced. All of our young people are very good people. Sometimes you just want to say something to help them, but in most cases, they know that they are What are you doing and doing well.”
Lucchini admitted that when Laval chose to trade his rights to Belleville, he was shocked. He also pointed out that it is a bit difficult to find his best form amidst so many lineup changes. At the same time, he said that he is very happy to play such an important role in his new club and improve his offensive ability.
If his outstanding performance continues, Mann and the team’s executives will definitely advocate for him to continue to play an important role. But for now, Lucchini has found a home. The native from Terrell, British Columbia, recently moved out of his hotel accommodation, ready to enjoy life with the fans and residents of the Quint Bay area.
“The fans are great. The skating rink is great… so far great. I got a very good opportunity, it’s fun.”
