The German Football Association said on Thursday that the plane, which had been transported back to the German team from Iceland after the World Cup qualifiers, was transferred to Scotland for security checks.
The German Federal Aviation Administration issued a statement on Twitter, saying: “Our return flight has been diverted to Edinburgh in order to conduct preventive safety checks on the aircraft.”
“Everyone is nice and waits patiently, while the employees conduct their business calmly and professionally. Then have another cup of coffee!”
On Wednesday, the German team won the Group J match in Reykjavik with a score of 4-0.
