Antonio Conte's stance on Tangi Ndombele's Spurs future revealed after Morecambe

Tottenham boss Antonio Conte shed new light on his stance on a possible sale of Tangi Ndombele on Monday night.

Spurs fans take aim

French midfielder Ndombele’s name has certainly been in the headlines again over the past 24 hours.

That’s due to a once-strong performance by Lyon in Tottenham’s meeting with Morecambe on Sunday.

Antonio Conte’s forces welcomed Serie A side Morecambe to north London just over 24 hours ago and ended up on the right side with a 3-1 draw, booking them a 3-1 draw. 4th round of the Cup.

However, it wasn’t the Spurs’ final comeback win per se, which actually proved the headlines after the game.

Instead, this came in the form of Ndombele’s actions above.

After seeing his number displayed on the 4th official’s board, indicating he made a second-half substitution, the midfielder enigmatically left the pitch as slowly as possible despite his team having conceded at the time.

Ndombele, in turn, lacked a sense of urgency, and the atmosphere in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium quickly deteriorated, with boos from the home crowd:

Conte makes a decision

As such, it has already been suggested that Ndombele may have spent his final minutes on the pitch in Tottenham colours before quickly leaving the club this month.

Media reports on Sunday night assured that the 25-year-old himself has decided to seek a new challenge in the second half of the campaign.

And now, as mentioned above, his manager’s thoughts on parting ways this month have provided insight.

The information comes from the Daily Mail’s Sammy Mokber, who assured Antonio Conte that, initially, he believed Ndombull would play a role in his plans.

However, the anger surrounding his actions on Sunday has now been decided as the final nail in the Frenchman’s coffin for Spurs.

In turn, we know Conte is very open to the prospect of Ndombele moving this winter, either permanently or on loan, to make room for fresh blood in his squad.
