Spotlight: Bridges Golf Club in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area
The Dallas-Fort Worth Metropolis is a bustling sight. Thankfully, if you know where to look, there is a quiet escape route.
Expert Metroplex golfers will take you to the loneliness of Gunter, Texas Bridges Golf Club, Located on Highway 289 north of downtown Dallas.
The Bridges is one of Metroplex’s newest public golf courses, which opened in 2008. It was designed by golf course architect Jeff Brauer and PGA Tour Hall of Fame member Fred Couples.
If you play hints, you will need a lot of “Boom-Boom”. This course can extend to more than 7,600 yards! And The Bridges has been awarded the US Open 2021 local qualifying venue by the USGA (May 2021, for all people with disabilities). The fact is that there is enough space to make a long hole, but there is also a pleasant environment. The course winds through The Bridges at Preston Crossing, but the holes are scattered, providing golfers with plenty of swing space, and few people see or hear other groups. The first two of the five sets of tees were less than 6,000 yards away, so everyone had a great time here.
The facilities are also worthy of elite activities. There is a complete driving range, short game area and practice green. Members of this semi-private club can enjoy swimming pool, tennis and fitness facilities.
“This course is one of my preferred courses for a good, stress-free round,” wrote bnovak24 In the five-star review of The Bridges by golf consultants in October 2020. “It’s in good condition, the staff is friendly, easy-going, the holes are challenging, and the price is affordable. It’s always a win-win here!”
If you haven’t played The Bridges for a while, please come back and take a look at the new green-side bunker. The drainage system was added and two wooden bridges were replaced.
So put Gunter on your DFW golf map. There is no better public golf course in North Texas than Bridges Golf Club.
