Big update on Rafael Benitez’s Everton future after Norwich emerges

New insights into Rafael Benitez’s status as Everton boss will be released on Saturday night.

Canary Victory

Not so long ago, the under-fired Benitez certainly led his team back into action.

With the Premier League in appalling form, the Toffees head to Carrow Road with an eye towards a long overdue return to victory at the expense of basement dwellers Norwich City.

When the dust settles, however, the crisis situation in the blue half of Merseyside will only continue to deteriorate.

Despite pulling back a goal in the second half thanks to a Richarlison magic, Everton were eventually eliminated with two goals apiece thanks to Michael Keane’s own goal and Man of the Match Adam Ada Done in 20 minutes.

Rafa on the way?

In turn, behind another frustrating day’s work on their side, it should come as no surprise to hear that Everton’s loyal fans are quick to point blame directly in the direction of one man.

Problematic individual? Rafael Benitez.

In a season the club has so far forgotten, Everton fans have long made it clear that they want Benitez to leave as soon as possible.

And, if the latest reports circulating through the media on Saturday night are anything to go by, the “Rafa out” contingent will likely soon get their wish.

According to The Athletic’s reliable David Ornstein, the Goodison Park bench is “increasingly uncertain”.

It was previously rumoured that Benitez had essentially “no turning back” at Everton, with sources close to the club even suggesting that the former Liverpool manager would be on hand ahead of next weekend’s meeting. Aston Villa:
