Pablo Mari ready to leave

In the first news of the day, Spanish defender Pablo Mari will leave the club on loan, with a move to Serie A side Udinese already lined up.

The defender, Mikel Arteta’s first Arsenal signing, is highly rated for his left-footed ability but has since been beaten by Romee in the Gunners’ 2-0 win over Chelsea in the second round. After being bullied by Lou Lukaku, he never played for the club again.

While the move is just a loan at the moment, the Spaniard will struggle to find a way back, with Willian Saliba set to return in the summer.

Can Arsenal handle Rob Holder as a backup defender until then?

Kolasinac is also ready to leave

And, in what appears to be a major clean-up for Mikel Arteta, fringe player Sid Kolasinac is also set to leave this month. Bosnian has not played a meaningful game for the club since the 5-0 loss to Manchester City in August, and with six months remaining on his contract, he may have played his last game for the club.

Now, it looks like he could be on loan at Marseille with Matteo Guendouzi and Willian Saliba, with the French side struggling to secure his signature.

It’s unclear if this is a loan or a permanent deal, but either way Arsenal may have seen the last of Kolasinac’s side.

Arthur details emerge

Arsenal’s pursuit of midfield screening appears to have led them to Juventus’ door for Brazilian Arthur Melo.

Gunners keen to loan the midfielder despite any move Could be hampered by Juventus needing to make a substitution first.

However, the Gunners are reportedly willing to pay the Brazilian’s salary as the loan gets closer. All parties are keen on a transfer, depending on whether the Turin club gives the green light.

Will he be a good addition to Arsenal’s midfield, or should they aim higher?
