Arsenal complete their first signing in January as Lino da Cruz Sousa joins from West Brom

Arsenal have made their first signing in the January 2022 transfer window.

Who did Arsenal sign?

Much to the disappointment of many fans, the signing was not Dusan Vlahovic, nor a midfielder or striker.

Instead, Arsenal signed A left back. Problem player? Lino da Cruz Sousa.

But who is the current ex-West Brom man?

Who is Lino da Cruz Sousa?

Well, Lino Sousa, as he’s usually called, is a 16-year-old left-back who played for champions West Brom.

Sosa, despite being just 16, has been a regular for West Brom’s Under-18s, even making a cap for their Under-23 team.

Sosa was also called up for the England training camp in March 2020 and he continues to represent the Under-15 and Under-16 Cubs.

For those who don’t know him well, West Brom Under-18s coach Peter Gilbert has this Say About teenagers:

“Lino is an athletic full-back, reads the game well, has a lovely left foot and it’s not common for a 16-year-old to play an entire season under 18, but that’s to his credit. , because he has a lot of potential.”

Soccer. London The signing was reported on Tuesday night, but no potential transfer fee was offered.

Florida State also offered some insight into Arsenal’s signing of Lino Sosa, claiming that Arsenal academy director Permert Sack has designated the left-back position as a special area where the Gunners need to strengthen at the academy level. Now they have apparently done so.

With Arsenal’s first-choice left-back Kieran Tierney still only 24, and their second-choice option Nunot Tavares just recently turned 21, it will be interesting to see if Sosa can fit in with Mikel in the future Arteta’s ideas will be interesting. North Londoners seem to have been in the area for a while for a few years now.
