Katic played for the Punjab Kings in 2008 and played 11 games for the team. He scored 241 overs in Kings XI Punjab with 129 overs, including two and a half centuries. Katich is one of the senior members of the team and also acts as a mentor. This is still his only IPL season as he coached IPL first with KKR and then RCB. He will join the Sunrisers Hyderabad coaching staff in IPL 2022.
