5 Indian players can cross bids of Rs 150 crore

The IPL 2022 auction is less than a month away, as the BCCI has announced February 12 and 13 as two dates for the big Bangalore auction.

A total of 27 players were retained by the eight teams prior to the auction, and the new teams (Lucknow and Ahmedabad) will be allowed to sign three players not retained by the older teams.

IPL 2022 will see most players on the auction block, as the BCCI plans to hold a major auction across ten teams, the last time such an arrangement was made in 2011.

Former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh happens to be the most expensive player in IPL auction history. In 2015, Delhi Daredevils (now Capitals) acquired Yuvraj for a hefty INR 160 crore.

Just a year before the aforementioned deal, Yuvraj was acquired by Royal Challengers Bengaluru for INR 140 crore at the IPL 2014 auction.

Last year, former South African player Chris Morris became the most expensive player in IPL history after being bought by Rajasthan Royals for Rs 16.25 crore.

Morris broke the Kolkata Cavaliers record of £155m set by Australia Test captain Pat Cummins in 2020.

IPL 2022 could turn out to be one of the most exciting auctions in the coming years.

Let’s take a look at the Indian players who can spare INR 150 crore from specific franchises in the IPL 2022 auction.
